SMS marketing in 2022 is a powerful tool to connect with your target audience. In the fast-growing world of digital marketing, it is an excellent way of using the internet to reach out to your existing customers and attract new customers.
What makes SMS marketing a must-have marketing strategy? Text messages have the highest open rate of any marketing channel. Over 65% of the global population sends and receives SMS text messages, so you can reach more people than ever.
Before you dive into your first digital marketing campaign, there are some things you should know about this marketing method. Here are some tips to help get you started with SMS marketing in 2022.
Create a Marketing Strategy
To make sure your marketing campaigns are successful, you need to plan in advance. By planning your SMS campaigns in advance, you can ensure that your team is working together to achieve the best results for your business.
Use SMS marketing to let your customers know about:
- Limited-time deals and offers
- Rewards programs
- Popular items or services
You can also see what messages have worked well in the past, allowing you to keep reusing them. You should also plan your campaigns around certain dates, like sales or product launches.
This can help you build a strong relationship with your customers and increase the chances of them returning to your business.
Automate Your SMS Campaigns
With automation tools, it's easy for you to create templates for all your future SMS campaigns. This is great news if you're looking to streamline your SMS marketing in 2022. SMS message automation allows you to focus on other aspects of running your business in between sending out automated messages.
The automated system fills in these templates based on the data you enter (such as date, time, recipient name, etc.). You can also set a schedule for the delivery of these messages so that they go out at certain times of the day or week.
Explore Conversational Messaging
The conversation is the key to customer satisfaction, repurchase, and retention. By making communication personal, you can connect with your audience in ways that resonate emotionally.
Unlike traditional SMS notifications, where customers must reply to text message alerts by typing in a predefined keyword, advanced SMS marketing systems allow you to have back-and-forth chats with your customers.
Look for an SMS marketing platform that offers different types of text messages. Through touchSMS Chat, you can:
- Chat with more than one person at a time
- Stay in contact with people even when they aren't available for a call or text
- Get answers to questions faster
- Provide better support for customers.
Update Your Database of Contacts
If you want to build a mailing list, starting with your existing customers is the best place to start. You can simply ask people to sign up when they make a purchase or send them post-purchase SMS messages encouraging them to subscribe. When you have a strong subscriber base, you'll have the opportunity to send out messages at specific times during the year with offers and promotions to increase sales.
You should also think about how you can use SMS marketing as part of your marketing strategy. A good example might be sending out weekly or monthly texts with daily deals or special promotions. Getting new customers is always an important goal for any business, and this kind of offer could help you attract new clients who want to take advantage of these promotions.
